This mizusashi water jar for the tea ceremony is of Japanese KYOTO ware. The pottery style is called HAKEME which is typified by the brush strokes on the glaze.. Hakeme is a traditional and popular style. A black lacquer lid could be purchased separately for this mizusashi to also give it an exceptional, more formal look. This item was made about 30 years ago. It is in very good condition.
