The Yukimi or snow lantern is one of the most traditional of Japanese garden lanterns. It is known for its wide roof and legged base.
These lanterns are small and often used next to water elements. Their low wide legged style enables them to be placed in almost any position with ease. The windows in this Yukimi-Gata are decorated with wooden latices, to add textural contrast and beauty. The light box in this lantern is round, and the lines are of an older style.
The weight of granite demands that each lantern be carved in separate pieces. They can be assembles by their own weight or with epoxy cement. Size: 30" (top width).
