This particular chawan was fired at high temperature in a wood fired kiln, and is very strong. It is a little smaller than most matcha chawan, and you may want to use it for sencha It measures 3 1/2" in diameter by 2 1/2" high (8 x 6 cm). It is in excellent condition with no chips, dings or hairlines. This tea bowl was made in the Taisho Era (c. 1920) and is nearly 100 years
