This is a tea bowl of Japanese Hagi ware made by the famous potter, Seigan Yamane (1952 — ). The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom of the bowl. Seigan Yamane began making Hagi ware in 1987, and started his own pottery works in 1992. He has been awarded many prizes for his great works.
This chawan is new. The glaze has a natural crackles, which was intentionally created at the time of firing, This is an excellent example of this technique, and is a very Wabi/Sabi piece. Ask Tea Dogu about the caring technique that will keep this piece in top condition.
