Chawan: Kuro (Black Raku) Tea Bown with Signed Box

This is a recent, and slightly used chawan of Black Raku pottery. Raku is the most desired of all pottery types for Tea ceremony. Their slightly asymmetric shape together with their uneven finish gives them a beautiful look. They are low temperature fired which results in a lighter weight and excellent insulating properties— wonderful for keeping a bowl of tea hot without being too hot to handle.
