Anodized aluminum wire is used for shaping and holding bonsai branches. When training thick branches or trunk, it is recommended to wrap the area with 2 wires.
The bonsai tree should be left dry for 2-3 days before the training begins to allow the bonsai tree to create flexibility. The training should be done in the order of trunk, then branches, and then thin branches; always from bottom to top, from base to tip.
1.0mm and 1.5mm are useful for training young, thin branches
2.0mm and 2.5mm are useful for training medium thick branches
3.0mm to 5.0mm are useful for training the trunk and thick branches
