Eric Lane started studying Japanese Tea Ceremony in 1986 under Sensei June Moriyasu in Portland, Oregon. While making moves to several new locations and new jobs, Eric continued keeping up with Tea, taking classes and serving on the board of Wakai Dokukai, the Tea association in Portland.
More recently, Eric and his family moved to Los Angeles where he met Sensei Nobuko Inuma, and continued studying with her. Eric's daughter, Adrienne, also started taking lessons. In 2007, Eric and Adrienne went to Kyoto with the Wakai Dokukai group to attend Rikyuki, and to take classes at Urasenke.
A long term passion of Eric's was the study of dogu (tools or implements) used with the Tea Ceremony. In 2010 Eric started the business "Tea Dogu" with hopes to offer a good selection of items to the tea community, as well as information and a forum for discussion of tea related items.
Shipping Information:
Many items are kept in stock at Tea Dogu, but many have to be special ordered. Let us know if you have a timing requirement. We will let you know what the expected delivery is on any order.
Shipping of your order may be by UPS or postal service. If you have special needs for delivery, please include them in the comment section of your order.
All shipping for international orders going outside the US must be quoted individually. The website will give you the product prices. Send Eric an email with your needs, and we can quote shipping costs.
Some larger or heavier items, such as most garden stoneware, must have freight charges quoted. These items will be excluded from the UPS shipping total, and you will be contacted with the cost for these items. If you want the shipping cost before you order a larger or heavier item, please call or email Eric at Tea Dogu.
Unopened items can be returned within seven days of being received. The purchase price will be refunded if the item is returned in "as new" condition. Contact Tea Dogu by phone or email if you need to return an item.
