Futa Oki: Bamboo for Furo Season

This futa oki (lid rest) is made of white bamboo.  The joint on the bamboo is very close to the top.  This bamboo futa oki is used when usucha is made without a tana (shelf).  Using a bamboo futa oki, you can experience a very pleasing sound when the water scoop (hishaku) and the futa oki come together.
