Natsume: Oribe Ceramic With Black Lacquered Top

A natsume or usuchaki is one of the traditional containers for Matcha tea powder for usucha, or thin tea in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. A natsume comes is several sizes, shapes, colors and compositions. This natsume is unique and beautiful.  The body is Oribe ceramic with one of the more beautiful designs I have seen.  The lid is lacquer over wood.  Together they offer an alternate to the typical lacquered natsume.

This natsume is a one-of a-kind piece.  It comes with a handmade box that has the name of the maker on it: Zui-Ko-Gama.
