Kaishi

Kaishi papers are used by the guest as a small plate when taking sweets before tea in the tearoom. The host may carry them too in case the guest forgets theirs, or a quick, small cleanup is necessary.

Men's kaishi are a little larger than those used by women. All guests should bring kaishi papers with them when invited to a tea gathering.
