Wrapping Cloth: Turmeric Cloth (Ukon-Nuno) for Chawan, 40x40 cm

This Ukon Numo cloth is used to wrap a chawan inside a kiribako.  It is also used when using a box for chaire or other ceramic items.  The color of the cloth is traditional. In Japan, ukon-nuno (lit. turmeric cloth) has traditionally been used to wrap antique wares since turmeric will keep away worms and insects.
