This is a vintage lacquered holder for ko-jakin. It was made in the time of Grand Tea Master Tan Tan Sai, and the box has his name on it. Gonome means in the style of or the preferred style of. We have 1 of these beautiful pieces. There is some ware on the lacquer, but the history more than makes up for it.
