Modern Kuro Karatsu guinomi with glossy black-brown iron glaze, attributed to Kyozan-gama (鏡山窯), with fitted box and kiln leaflet.
Description
This compact Karatsu guinomi has a distinctive tall pedestal foot and a broad, gently flared drinking bowl. Its iron-rich glaze shifts from deep glossy black to warm amber and reddish brown, especially around the rim and interior. The unglazed foot ring exposes the warm buff Karatsu clay beneath.
The wooden box is marked ぐい呑 (guinomi) and 鏡山窯 (Kyozan-gama), and the accompanying printed leaflet bears a matching kiln seal. These documents support attribution to the Kyozan-gama workshop. No individual potter signature is visible on the cup, so the listing intentionally does not assign it to a specific Inoue family artist.
